MOLETE, PAUL DIKGWELE

Paul Dikgwelle Molete (b. 1983) is a South African artist known for his evocative mixed media works that explore themes of identity, culture, and the human experience. Born in the small town of QwaQwa in the Free State, Molete developed an early passion for art, which he pursued through formal education. He obtained his degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Free State, where he honed his skills in various artistic disciplines.

Molete’s art often reflects his personal experiences and the socio-political landscape of South Africa. He employs a diverse range of materials, including textiles, found objects, and traditional painting techniques, to create layered compositions that invite viewers to engage with complex narratives. His work has been exhibited in numerous galleries across the country and has garnered recognition for its unique perspective and emotional depth.

In addition to his artistic practice, Molete is also dedicated to mentoring young artists and fostering community engagement through art. He believes in the power of creativity as a tool for social change and actively participates in workshops and initiatives aimed at empowering the next generation of South African artist.
